And international students can take exams in their home countries’ academic syllabuses alongside their dance training. Students who prefer research-based study may opt to complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) instead. While younger students complete their GCSEs alongside their ballet training, degree-level dancers pair their programme with A Levels in English Literature, Mathematics, French, and Art. Pairing Ballet Training With Academic Curriculumsīallet training forms the basis of an education at The Royal Ballet School, but each student also studies a broad academic curriculum. There are two distance learning courses: Technician Grade and Combined Intermediate and Final Grade (Clock or Watch Pathway).Įach course contains a series of self-contained lessons and practical exercises. They have helped guide many students into the profession. Our home study courses have been running for over 50 years and are constantly being updated. You can do the course purely for your own interest if you wish.

Passing the related exams will gain you BHI professional accreditation as a watchmaker or clockmaker, but there is no obligation to take them. You can learn at your own pace wherever it suits you (though we do run courses to assist distance learning students).
